What We Do
Established in 2017, the Guild is organized and operated exclusively to promote the common business and regulatory interests of its members and to improve the business conditions for the South Carolina craft distilling industry.
The South Carolina Craft Distillers Guild is pleased to announce that it has recently engaged Sweatman Strategies to handle the Guild’s Association Management.
Lisa McGill Sweatman owner of Sweatman Strategies will serve as the Guild’s Executive Director; Micah Rea (formally with the Lt. Governor’s Office) will be the Guild's Director of Management; and Lydia Blackstone (current Journalism Student at the University of South Carolina) will be the Guild's Executive Assistant.
Sweatman Strategies lead the Guild earlier in 2021 at the State House with a great legislative win when the SCCDG attached their bill as an amendment to the Gallo Bill to help it get through the legislature. It passed with bipartisan support on May 4, and became law when South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster signed it into law on May 17, 2021.
